A new Vauxhall Viva will arrive in summer 2015 as a budget City Car as Vauxhall looks to take a piece of the low cost entry-level car market.

The Vauxhall Viva is back – teased ahead of a summer 2015 launch
There hasn’t been a Vauxhall Viva since 1979, but Vauxhall is reviving the Viva badge to create a new affordable City Car that aims to take the fight to brands like Dacia that are mopping up sales across Europe.
Based on the next generation Chevy Spark, the new Viva can carve itself a niche in the UK (and in Europe, although it won’t be the Opel Viva) as a budget offering now Chevrolet is leaving the Old Continent, although sticking with the Vauxhall brand might not help differentiate the Viva as a budget offering.
Set to be offered as a five-door hatch, the new Viva will probably get the engines from the Vauxhall Adam – including the new 3-pot – but unlike the Adam, which is sold as a funky, young, style-driven car, the Viva is aimed at the cost-conscious end of the market, and will be focusing on offering low-cost practicality with decent build quality.
Vauxhall say the new Viva will arrive in summer 2015, so it seems likely a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015 is on the cards.
No doubt we’ll have plenty more teases for the new Viva between now and then.
