[nggallery id=2454 template=customlinks]
The new Volvo XC60 is off to Volvo’s stand at the Techno Classica Show as Volvo showcases 90 years of car making at the world’s biggest classic show.
This year is rather a big one for Volvo, with both the new XC60 and the new XC40 arriving in their 90th year of making cars (the first Volvo rolled out of the factory gate in Gothenburg on 14 April 1927), so they’re off to Techno Classica to celebrate.Techno Classica – the world’s biggest show for classic vehicles – will see Volvo’s stand populated with cars from across its history, but it will also be the first chance for the German public to see just how appealing a non-Teutonic premium SUV is, with the first appearance in Germany of the new Volvo XC60.
Of course, the Germans already know that the previous XC60 outsold every competitor thrown at it by BMW, Mercedes and Audi – even when it was a decade old – so we’re sure they’ll be delighted to have the new XC60 strutting its appeal in Essen.
Alongside future Volvo and the XC60 will be past Volvo, with a selection of six cars from Volvo’s history, giving Essen’s knowledgeable crowd something to smile about.
