Peugeot Fractal Concept is a 201bhp Urban EV Coupe

The Peugeot Fractal Concept has been revealed ahead of a debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show as a 201bhp electric urban coupe and clever sound technology.
Peugeot are calling the Fractal an ‘Urban Coupe’, and it comes with a removable roof and sits on skinny 19″ wheels, weighs in at just 1000kg and gets a total of 201bhp from its two electric motors – one on each axle – powered by a lithium ion battery pack said to be good for a range of up to 280 miles.
Inside is very ‘Concept’ – and a new take on the i-Cockpit from the SR1 Concept – with a small steering wheel, integrated touchpads that remove the need for physical buttons, a 7.7″ holographic heads-up display and a customisable 12.3″ instrument cluster.
Interestingly, Peugeot say that 80 per cent of the interior has been 3-D printed, and inspiration for the interior comes from the types of surfaces and material used in auditoriums – which is clearly appropriate as the Fractal features a new sound generation system which can create the illusion of direction and has seats that deliver bass sound.
The Fractal also generates a sound signature to warn pedestrians and other road users of its presence (something EVs will have to offer soon under EU legislation).
The Peugeot Fractal Concept will debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
