Peugeot Instinct Concept showcases Peugeot’s future design & autonomous tech
The Peugeot Instinct Concept has been revealed ahead of the Geneva Motor Show, showcasing Peugeot’s future design and autonomous technology.
The Geneva Motor Show is on the way (it starts next week) so we can expect to see a raft of new concept cars cropping up this week – just like the Peugeot Instinct Concept.PSA has a history of good concept, and this Instinct Concept is no different. Sadly, they’re usually about signalling design direction or new technology rather than heralding a new model, and this concept is the same.
About the size of a 30 8 Estate (yes, it looks bigger) this sleek Shooting Brake sits low, looks purposeful and is powered by a 297bhp plug-in hybrid powertrain driving all four wheels. Although Peugeot don’t seem too sure of the details.
The nose of the Instinct makes a statement with its slim headlights with cameras built in and bold 3-D printed grille, and the sculpted body is designed to be as aerodynamic as possible.

The Peugeot Instinct Concept’s interior shows a future take on the familiar i-Cockpit
Inside, the Instinct gets a Concept take on the now familiar i-Cockpit, with a reaction to the driver’s choice of Drive or Autonomous modes creating the chosen environment by folding the steering wheel in to the dashboard and the accelerator pedal back on to the pedal unit.
All four seats get high-res displays with Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity, allowing the car to deliver all your home stuff to the car too, from playing the music you listened to at breakfast to telling you when your next appointment is and where to park.
Matthias Hossann, Head of Peugeot Concept cars said:
With the Peugeot Instinct Concept and its Responsive i-Cockpit, we are building on the factors that have made the brand’s latest models so successful. We are creating new forms of driving pleasure. These may come from the interfaces, the architecture or the styling. There is no reason why a self-driving car should be dull to look at or to experience.
The Peugeot Instinct Concept will debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
