The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo arrives on sale in the UK boasting a name that’s too long to fit on its boot and a price tag that would buy you a pair of Panamera 4 Sport Turismos – £140,868.

Admittedly that long name and huge price tag does deliver you a car which is the pinnacle of the Panamera range with enormous power laced with a healthy does of decent decent looks and practicality.

The plug-in hybrid powertrain – straight from the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid – uses a 4.0 litre V8 with 542bhp and a 134bhp electric motor to deliver a combined 671bhp and 627lb/ft of torque, with all that torque available from just 1400rpm.

That results in startling performance from what is, essentially, a Porsche Estate, with 0-62mph coming in just 3.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 192mph.

Because it’s a plug-in hybrid – which takes up to six hours to recharge depending on what you’re plugged in to – it comes with a bonkers official economy of 97mpg and an EV range of 31 miles. But you’ll get neither in the real world.

As the range topping Sport Turismo you do get extra goodies for your £140k as well as the massively powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain, including Panoramic roof, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC Sport), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), limited slip diff, Ceramic Brakes, 21″ alloys and Sport Chrono Package.
