Skoda Citigo, Fabia and Octavia – now with fitted Skoda umbrellas
Skoda has decided the fitted umbrella in the Superb is such a big selling point that fitted umbrellas will now be available on the Citigo, Fabia and Octavia.
It is summer, although the weather may have you fooled on that one, which does mean car news – and all news – is a bit thin on the ground. Which goes some way to explaining why umbrellas for Skodas is newsworthy.Skoda are keen to tell us that lucky Skoda buyers will now be able to have a fitted brolly in not just the Superb but also in the Citigo, Fabia and Octavia. Steady.
It seems the fitted brolly in the Superb isn’t just any old umbrella but is, according to Skoda, an ‘acclaimed’ brolly, so we should be hugely grateful they’ve decided to fit it in more cars across the range.
It seems the fitted brolly is one of the most talked-about features of the Superb (which seems to be damning an actually very good car with faint praise), so as us poor Brits have to endure 133 rainy days a year the thoughtful Czechs (who actually get 150 wet days a year) are pandering to our weather obsession by fitting more brollies.
Since 2001 Skoda has emulated Rolls Royce by fitting umbrellas, but until now that has been only on the Superb, but from 8 August you’ll be able to have your very own fitted brolly in the Citigo, Fabia and Octavia too.
You’ll need to opt for a Citigo or Fabia SE or better to get a brolly, and you can only have it on the Octavia SE and better if you stump up £25.
Skoda. Simply Dry.
