Skoda Kodiaq vRS TEASED ahead of Paris debut
The Skoda Kodiaq vRS – Skoda’s performance take on the Kodiaq SUV – is teased ahead of a debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.
It’s not exactly a secret that the Skoda Kodiaq vRS is on the way to add a performance model at the top of Skoda’s Kodiaq SUV range. After all, Skoda has already been making noise about it for some time. The biggest noise was putting Sabine Schmitz behind the wheel of the Kodiaq vRS back in June and letting her loose on the Nurburgring (where else?) to demonstrate that the performance Kodiaq has enough on offer to justify the vRS badge.
Sabine managed to haul the Skoda SUV round the track in 9:29.84 which, although some 1:38 minutes slower than the SUV Nurburgring record set by the Alfa Stelvio Quadrifoglio, turns out to be a lap record for a seven-seat SUV. Still, it’s a record.
Now, as Skoda prepare to debut the Kodiaq vRS as the Paris Motor Show at the beginning of October, we get a couple of shadowy images of the new vRS to tease its arrival.
Frankly, they show us nothing much more than a new set of alloys, a slightly more menacing stance and a slightly different vRs logo.
But we do know the vRS (yes, it’s the Kodiaq RS in the rest of the world, but it has to be vRS here as Ford owns ‘RS’ in the UK) has a 2.0 litre diesel engine with 237bhp, which is apparently the most powerful production diesel Skoda has ever used, and four wheel drive.
There’s time for a few more teases of the Skoda Kodiaq vRS in the weeks before Paris, so expect more to come.
