With the new Smart ForTwo and Smart ForFour due to debut this week, SMART are teasing the new their new City Cars with what it’s not.

The new SMART City Car will be a giant – apparently
It’s a bit of a cliche, but we’re not entirely sure Germans should use humour to promote their products.
So we get two videos purporting to show what the new SMART City Cars offer – basically a SMART the size of a lorry – and set about convincing us, and gullible members of the public on camera, that this is indeed the route they’re going for the new SMART.
In truth, the new ForTwo and new ForFour are pretty much what you get in the new Renault Twingo, with an extra dash of SMART upmarket toys and a bigger price tag.
With the new SMARTs borrowing three quarters of what they are from the Twingo, Mercedes do need to try and set the SMART apart, but it won’t be that easy.
Due to be revealed officially on Wednesday (16th July 2014) the new SMART is expected to get the option of a 1.0 litre 70 PS petrol, a 90PS 3-cylinder turbo petrol and, although not to start with, a 100 PS Sporty version and an electric version too.
All should be revealed on Wednesday.
