The Impreza is a great car, and slotting in the 2.0-litre Boxer Diesel is a move designed to get the Impreza a whole new market, especially as it’s coming in at a round decent Golf money – a nice round £20,000 for the Impreza 2.0D RC. The 2.0 litre boxer diesel outputs 150bhp and 258lb/ft of torque, and can do 0-60 mph in 8.8 seconds and on to 127 mph. It does 47.1 mpg and emits 155g/km CO2. All this is driven to all four wheels by Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system mates to a new, wide-ratio six speed manual ‘box.
Both Impreza Diesel Models – the RX and the RX – have a decent standard spec including 6xCD Audi with AUX for MP3, electric tailgate, heated wipers, LED tail lights and Climate Control. The RX gets extra goodies like keyless entry, leather trim and sunroof.
