The Suzuki Celerio has seen sales suspended, drivers advised not to drive and all UK cars recalled after Autocar experienced total brake failure when testing the Celerio.

Suzuki Celerio sale suspended after Autocar total brake failure
We all know that cars loaned out to motoring journalists for test and review get pushed harder than most owners will ever push their own cars, but when a car loaned out to motoring media experiences total brake failure, car makers have to investigate.
Apparently, the brake pedal went down, and stayed there, and had no impact on speed; even hooking a foot under the pedal to bring it back up and try again made no difference.
Suzuki took the car away and replaced it, but the second Celerio did exactly the same thing. In both cases the Autocar driver managed to bring the car under control using the gearbox and handbrake.
As a result, Suzuki is recalling all Celerios sold in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, has suspended sales until they find out what’s going on and is advising owners not to drive under any circumstances. Those owners will be given a courtesy car until the problem is rectified.
The new Suzuki Celerio has only just gone on sale, so numbers affected are low. But it’s not a good thing to find out after cars have reached customers.
