This week’s Top Gear – already at episode 6 of series 22 – is another mix of feature piece and track time on the TG track, with the Lexus take on the BMW M4 in Clarkson’s hands at Dunsfold and a pair of American mega SUVs playing at International Rescue.
Sadly for the Hamster, the rescue team consists of Jeremy Clarkson and James May who, when the rescue signal comes, are thousands of miles away and in no real rush to save Hammond from certain death (well, being chilly at least).
But eventually the pair get their act together and commandeer a pair of extreme American SUV – the Hennessey Ford F150 Velociraptor & Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD – which offers extremes in everything from size to power to wheels.
Back at the Top Gear track, Clarkson gets to play with the new Lexus RC F Coupe – the Lexus take on the BMW M4 – to see if the Lexus performance potential gives it any chance against cars like the M4 and Mercedes C 63 AMG.
After last week’s Star in a Reasonably Priced car – Olly Murs – topped the leader board, we have FBI Special Agent Dana Scully – actress Gillian Anderson – spending time with The Stig to see if she can clock a time that also takes us by surprise.
