The firts photo of what’s expected to be the Toyota Yaris Gazoo – a Yaris Hot Hatch
A Toyota Yaris ‘Hot Hatch’ – expected to be the Toyota Yaris Gazoo – will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March and deliver over 210bhp.
Last month, as the Yaris WRC was revealed in Helsinki, Toyota published a teaser sketch for a hot hatch Yaris to come, and now we know it will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in the Spring.Expected to be the Toyota Yaris Gazoo – the first Toyota road car to wear the Gazoo racing badge – it will get more than 210bhp, almost certainly from a turbo 2.0 litre petrol, and should take the fight to the Fiesta ST.
Toyota has released very few details on the Yaris Gazoo, although the images (above and below) show a Yaris which looks purposeful without being over the top, although we could probably live without the graphics.
As well as delivering the Yaris Gazoo at Geneva, Toyota also plan to reveal a facelift for the Yaris range as a whole, with the usual tweaks to bumpers and lights, a titivated interior and improved connectivity and technology.
Toyota say the facelift for the Yaris will boost its appeal, and they’re keen to point out that 40% of Yaris sales in Europe are of the Yaris Hybrid, the perfect antidote to the diesel engines buyers of other marques usually get.
