Toyota Yaris & Yaris Hybrid get updated for 2014. Price from £10,895

Toyota has revised the trim options for the 2014 Yaris and Yaris Hybrid and the 1.4 D-4D engine now offers emissions of 99g/km.

The Toyota Yaris & Yaris Hybrid have been updated for 2014

Toyota has decided to have a play with the Yaris and Yaris Hybrid, bringing in new trim levels as well as getting the 1.4 litre diesel in to the sub-100g/k emissions bracket.

Toyota call the new trim levels a simplification, but you’ll still have the option of Active, Icon (but not on the hybrid), Icon Plus and Trend depending on how many goodies you want to fork out for.

The entry-level Yaris Active offers a basic equipment level with electric front windows, USB, and audio controls on the steering wheel, but you’ll have to pick the Yaris Icon to get stuff like 15″ alloys, electric door mirrors, Toyota Touch Media System, rear-vew camera, AirCon and Bluetooth.

More toys come courtesy of the Icon Plus Yaris with different alloys, auto lights and wipers, Climate, all-round electric windows, Cruise and LED rear lights making the Yaris much easier to live with.

At the top of the tree comes the Yaris Trend with 16″ alloys, extra chrome, privacy glass and a Trend interior trim with white dashboard inserts.

The Yaris Hybrid gets similar goodies across the range, but the Hybrid Active also gets LED running lights and Climate, and the Hybrid Trend adds part leather, keyless and a rear spoiler.

If you still want to spend more on your new Yaris, you can opt for a number of option packs including Appearance Pack (£750), Smart Pack (£300), Protection Pack (£700) and Style Pack (£500) plus you can also have Toyota’s Touch & Go multimedia system (£650) which includes SatNav, Google search and access to Apps.

Under the bonnet, the 1.4 litre D-4D has had a small tweak to improve its economy from 72.4 to 74.3 mpg, which in turn reduces official emissions to 99g/km and free VED.

The 2014 Toyota Yaris and Yaris Hybrid are now on sale in the UK.
