Vauxhall Insignia GSi costs from £33,375
The Vauxhall Insignia GSi, revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show with 256bhp and AWD, costs from £33,375 in the UK for the Grand Sport.
Vauxhall rolled out the Insignia GSi at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the autumn, topping Vauxhall’s new ‘Premium’ In signia range with its 252bhp and four-wheel drive. Not only is the GSi available as a Grand Tourer, you can also have it as a Sports Tourer too, which is probably the most appealing option.
The headline act is the 2.0 litre petrol engine with 256bhp and 295lb/ft of torque, but you can, if you really want, have a 2.0 litre BiTurbo diesel with 207bhp.
Effectively a replacement for the Insignia VXR, the GSi is, say Vauxhall, the quickest car they’ve made around the Nurburgring thanks to its lower weight and 4WD, torque vectoring, FlexRide chassis and Brembo brakes.
The GSi also has four driving modes to deliver the right setup you need, with FlexRide modifying dampers, steering, shift and traction to suit your needs.
As well as a choice of engines, you also get either the Grand Sport four door or a load carrying Sport Tourer, with the Grand Sport and Sport Tourer costing, respectively, £33,375 and £34,874 whichever of the engines you opt for.
Spec is decent with LED matrix headlights, leather sports seats, 8″ infotainment, Bose and heads up as well as shoutier bumpers and a rear spoiler (on the Grand Sport).
The new Insignia GSi will arrive in Vauxhall’s UK showrooms in March 2018.
