The Volvo V60 D5 Twin Engine Special Edition is the next instalment of Volvo’s plug-in hybrid offensive, offering a cheaper take on the V60 PHEV.

Volvo V60 D5 Twin Engine Special Edition plug-in hybrid
We recently reviewed the Volvo V60 PHEV plug-in hybrid, and our only real moans, about a car that really did offer a lot, was the price and the now slightly rough D5 2.4 litre diesel engine. But Volvo has that covered.
That will mean performance that’s perhaps a touch down on the D6, but after our review of the S60 with the new D4 engine we’re not entirely sure you’ll notice much difference.
Volvo has tagged the ‘Twin Engine’ badge on this new D5 to indicate it’s a hybrid, and the Special Edition is a launch model limited to just 500 units.
Dr. Thomas Müller, Volvo VP, said:
We decided to offer a special edition of the V60 D5 Twin Engine to celebrate the growing success and continued roll-out of our Twin Engine product range. We are one of few car makers that deliver a true no compromise driving experience – combining the benefits of pure electric drive, high performance and great fuel economy.
The Special Edition V60 D5 Twin Engine comes with a Crystal White paint job, 19″ alloys, gloss black exterior detailing, piano black interior trim and Blond seat upholstery with white stitching.
No word on yet how much Volvo want for the V60 D5 Twin engine, or how many are going to be available in the UK
