Volvo XC40 teased ahead of today’s reveal
The new Volvo XC40 will be revealed today (18 May 2016) in Gotheburg, and be joined by the new S40 as Volvo shows its new ’40’ Series cars.
UPDATE: The new Volvo XC40 and S40/V40 Concepts have been revealed.Last week, Volvo revealed the first tease photos of the new XC40 Compact SUV (well, certainly the concept for it), and ahead of today’s reveal in Gothenburg we get new photos of a car that should really accelerate Volvo’s sales.
We saw the front of the XC40 last week, but this week Volvo continues its tease with a look at the back end of the new XC40 (above) which shows clear influences from the XC90.
But also revealed is a birds-eye photo of the two reveals Volvo plan for today, and it looks like we’re going to see the revival of the S40 saloon, rather than the new V40, in Gothenburg.
What Volvo has also done is confirm the new ’40’ series of cars will be available with a T5 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid variant, as well as both three and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines and, it’s expected, an electric XC40 too.
The reveal of the new Volvo Concepts is planned for later today, when we should get much more information and a good idea of exactly what Volvo’s new 40 Series of cars will offer.
It’s expected the new XC40 will be the first of the new range to go on sale in early 2017, followed by the S40 and V40.
