The BMW 1-Series has been given a major facelift for 2014, and a new range of 3-cylinder engines and revised 4-cylinder engines are revealed. On sale spring 2015.

2015 BMW 1-Series facelift includes new 3-cylinder engines
The BMW 1-Series isn’t the best looking car in the BMW range, but the 2015 facelift – due to debut in public at the Geneva Motor Show in March and revealed today – goes a long way to addressing its looks, with the added benefit of a new range of 3-cylinder engines and revised 4-cylinder ones too.
The rest of the diesel range are four-cylinder 2.0 litre engines, with the 118d offering 148bhp, 120d with 188bhp and 125d with 221bhp, with the 118d also available with a manual ‘box and xDrive 4WD and the 120d with xDrive and an eight-speed auto.
Petrol options are a 116i with a 1.5 litre three-cylinder with 107bhp (which doesn’t look like it will be available in the UK), with the rest of the petrol range offering four-cylinder 2.0 litre engines – 118i with 134bhp, 120i with 174bhp and 125i with 215bhp.
The final option is the M135i which comes with the same 3.0 litre six as the M235i with 322bhp, enough to get to 62mph in 4.9 seconds if you opt for the eight-speed auto (5.1s manual).

The interior of the 2015 BMW 1 Series is improved too
The cosmetic change to the 1-Series do make it look far more appealing, with much bigger air intakes, lower apron and new grill at the front, new headlights with LED running lights (and the option of adaptive LED headlights), new lines down the flanks and a revised rear end with new LED lights.
Inside the new 1-Series there are a number of improvements including new upholstery options, piano black trim, a 6.5″ Infotainment screen (with a Nav upgrade option offering an 8.8″ screen), Climate and improved self-parking.
The 2015 BMW 1-Series will get a public debut at the Geneva Motor Show before going on sale on 28 March. Prices start at £20,245 for the 118i SE.
