Mazda has revealed the 2013 Mazda3 MPS hot hatch and announced it is adding the Tamura and Venture to the standard range.

The 2013 Mazda3 MPS gets some small titivations (although you do need to look quite hard – there’s even fewer changes than the regular 2012 Mazda3) with some new tail light graphics, a new gunmetal finish for the 18″ alloys and a black Mica finish for the trim at the bottom of the back bumper, door mirrors and inner roof spoiler.
Fortunately, Mazda has kept the peppy 2.3 litre turbo petrol that offers 256bhp and can scuttle the little Mazda to 62mph in 6.1 seconds. It drives through a six-speed ‘box and gets a limited slip diff and is just about as quick as the Focus RS.
Colour choices for the Mazda3 MPS are now Aluminium Silver, Black Mica, Crystal White Pearlescent and Velocity Red and come included in the price of £23,995.
Across the rest of the Mazda3 range Mazda has had a bit of a play and introduced the Mazda3 Tamaru and Mazda3 Venture as regular models (rather than the limited editions they were launched as) and can be had with either the 1.6 litre petrol or 1.6 litre diesel engine.
The Mazda3 Tamura now costs £15,995 for the petrol & £17,495 for the diesel, and the Mazda3 Venture costs £17,495 for the petrol and £18,995 for the diesel (with an auto ‘box £1k extra – petrol only).
The final Mazda3 on offer – in addition to the Tamura, Venture and MPS – is the 185ps 2.2-litre MZR-CD diesel which will cost £20,995.
