The new Ford Focus RS is officially on its way, and Ford are teasing their new hot hatch with a video ahead of a debut on 3 February 2015.

2015 Ford Focus RS TEASED on video for a Feb 3 reveal
The hugely appealing Focus RS has been sadly missing from Ford’s line-up since the latest generation of the Focus arrive in 2011, but that’s set to change with the arrival of an all new Focus RS for 2015 on 3 February.
As you’d expect, the new Fous RS will capture the spirit of the last – hugely successful – RS with its bold body kit bolted on to the now familiar shape of the current Focus.
But what we’re still not certain about is what’s under the skin of the new Focus RS?
The most likely engine is the 2.3 litre EcoBoost from the new Ford Mustang, which is going to need something over 350bhp to compete with cars like the Mercedes A 45 AMG and Audi RS3, although it’s possible Ford will be happy with enough power to take on the latest Golf R.
What is still a bit vague is whether the new Focus RS will put whatever power it has through its front wheels using an updated version of Ford’s RevoKnuckle front suspension to tame torque steer, or whether it will take on the super hot hatches from Audi and Mercedes with a 4WD setup.
There have been rumours and counter-rumours abounding since the new Focus arrived about what Ford will do with the new RS – including a 4WD setup with electric motors driving the back wheels – but the balance of probability is that Ford will stick with front wheel drive for their new global RS.
We’ll find out on 3 February, if not before. And it seems likely the new Focus RS will get its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
