Hot on the heels of the new BMW 5 Series, the 2017 BMW 5 Series Touring arrives as the load-lugging 5 Series. Debuts at the Geneva Motor Show and costs from £38,385.
The new 2017 BMW 5 Series arrived three months ago as BMW renewed its most important car, and now the 5 Series estate – the new BMW 5 Series Touring – arrives ahead of a Geneva Motor Show debut. In terms of design, the 5 Series Touring is, as you’d expect, a new 5 Series saloon with a shed on the back, but the shed bit’s a bit more stylish and still manages 1700 litres of room for stuff with the back seats down, and to make that easier it gets electric folding rear seats as well as an electric tailgate, and the opening back window is still there too.
Kicking of the 5 Series Touring range in the UK is the 520d Touring, costing from £38,385 (£2,360 more than the saloon), with the 530d from £46,235 if you want a bit more get up and go. There’s also the 530d xDrive at £48,235 if you want your power going to all four wheels.
Petrol options at launch will be the 530i at £42,390, or the surprisingly swift 540i xDrive at £49,460.
BMW’s UK dealers will be taking orders for the new 5 Series Touring from this month (February 2017), with a public debut for the Touring at Geneva in March.
