2017 Lexus IS now on sale in the UK priced from £29,995

The 2017 Lexus IS facelift revealed earlier in the year is now on sale in the UK costing from £29,995 for the IS 300h SE to £38,995 for the IS 300h Premier and F-Sport.

It was back in April that Lexus revealed a facelift for 2017 for the IS at the Beijing Motor Show, followed by a European debut in Paris a couple of months ago. And now the 2017 Lexus IS has gone on sale in the UK with first deliveries in January and prices from £29,995 to £38,995.

The cosmetic updates for the 2017 IS include new headlights, tweaked air intakes and modified grille at the front, stronger character lines down the side, new rear lights with LED lamps and a bit of extra chrome on the back bumper.

Inside, the infotainment screen grows to 10.25″ (and with a split screen function), there’s a steering wheel from the RC Coupe, new stitching, improved knee cushioning for the driver and front seat passenger, new cupholders, palm rest for the interface control on the centre console and new interior upholstery and colour choices.

Under the skin, Lexus has improved suspension and steering with the front double wishbones getting a more rigid lower arm assembly and bushing, as well as new settings for the coil springs and dampers for better control.

At the back, there’s new bushing for the multi-link suspension and revised damper setting. The steering has laso had its brain tweaked.

The Lexus Safety System+ is now fitted across the IS range (except the 300h SE) which includes camera and radar sensors for more information, better forward vision and warnings and autonomous braking.

The IS also gets pre-crash safety with brake assist, Adaptive Cruise, Auto High Beam, Lane Departure Alert and Traffic Sign recognition as well as Sway Warning.

Well equipped across the range (you might want to avoid the less well-equipped 300 SE at £29,995), with a choice of SE, Executive (from £30,995), Sport (from £31,495), Advance (from £32,995), Luxury (from £34,495), F Sport (from £34,795) and Premier (from £37,995) and either the 300h hybrid or 200t petrol turbo, the IS is worth consideration.

The 2017 Lexus IS is now on sale at Lexus’s UK dealers, with first customer cars due in January.
