The 2018 Honda HR-V Facelift
The 2018 Honda HR-V has been revealed with a number of design updates for the interior and exterior and the addition of new technology.
It’s facelift time for the Honda HR-V, a car which arrived in 2015 as Honda tried to deliver a small SUV to tackle the dominance of cars like the Nissan Juke, but despite offering some clever features, and more room than rivals, it’s never really set the sales charts on fire. The cosmetic tweaks for HR-V facelift follow the tried and tested route, so the front end get a more butch ‘Solid Wing’ face with a glossy dark chrome panel, projector headlights and deeper air intakes, with the back end getting darker lights and another lump of dark chrome trim.
Opt to spend more than you have to and you will get 17″ alloys too, a new chrome tail pipe, and the lights front and back are now LED units.
Inside the ‘Magic Seat’ system remains, with redesigned seats in the front offering greater support with higher quality materials and leather on the top end models.
Honda say they’ve made the HR-V more refined by adding big chunks of insulation to the car to reduce noise and have also added Active Noise Cancellation to add to the refinement.
Initially, the only engine option is the 1.5-litre i-VTEC which delivers 128bhp and 114lb/ft of torque, good for 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds with six-speed manual and a bit slower (10.9 seconds) if you opt for the optional CVT gearbox. Honda say they will also offer the new HR-V with a 1.5L VTEC Turbo petrol and 1.6L i-DTEC diesel from spring 2019.
Deliveries of the facelifted HR-V start in October, by which time Honda should have decided on price.

Thats why it doesn’t sell, no turbo & small power for the small petrol engine. That put me off for sure. Why wait till next spring to release the 1.5 turbo, thats what will drive the sales!!!!
