2018 Lexus RC and RC F Coupes get a raft of updates
The Lexus RC, the Lexus competition for cars like the BMW 4 Series, and its performance RC F sibling get a range of updates and equipment for 2018. On sale in the UK now.
The Lexus RC Coupe is actually a very appealing car, with cracking looks, a great cabin, high levels of equipment and a decent price.True, it’s not as dynamic as the BMW 4 Series, and nor is it as involving, but it has a great balance of abilities which make it very easy to live with.
But if you want a bit of bonkers, then there’s also the M4 baiting Lexus RC F with its glorious naturally aspirated V8 offering cracking performance, and yet still manages everyday cosseting.
And now the Lexus RC and RC F Coupe are getting better still for 2018.
For 2018 the Lexus Safety System+ – stuff like Adaptive Cruise, Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure – comes as standard, as does Lexus Premium Navigation with its 10.3″ screen.
There’s also a new trim level – F Sport with Premium Pack – which includes Mark Levinson Sound, DAB, sunroof, Blind Sport and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and ‘auto-away’ for the driver’s seat for easy entry.
That means the trim levels on offer in the 2018 RC are the RC 300h Luxury (from £39,140), RC 300h F Sport (from £41,640, the aforementioned RC 300h F Sport Premier Pack (from £43,540) and the RC 300h Premier (from £43,950).
Beyond the regular RC Hybrid, the V8 RC F also comes in for upgrades for 2018.
Drive Start control – which regulates power to maintain composure when you’re clumsy – is standard (and it goes off if you turn of the traction control), and there’s the Lexus Safety System+ here too, new 19″ alloys and new Alcantara for the heated seats.
There’s also now an RC F Plus Pack which adds in 19″ forged alloys, semi-aniline leather, front seat ventilation, upgraded Mark Levinson Sound, and optional sunroof. It costs from £59,620 or £69,620 with the Plus Pack.
Bothe the 2018 RC and RC F are now on sale at UK Lexus dealers.
