The Lamborghini LP570-4 will, it seems, get the Superleggera moniker instead of Super Veloce as we previously reported.
As we’ve reported umpteen times, Lamborghini are committed to bringing a new car to each major Motor Show. And it’s clear that the next new car will be the Lamborghini LP570-4.
We first reported back in September on a Superleggera version of the LP560 which had been caught testing, and our Lamborghini friends told us this would be a Superleggera version with more power and less weight – just like the Gallardo Superleggera which went before.
But just after Christmas we ran a story on what seemed to be the LP570-4 SV. Everything stacked up with our original information except it seemed clear – at least to the well-informed guys over at TeamSpeed – that the new car would get the Super Veloce moniker instead of the Superleggera. Which, considering the success Lamborghini has had marketing the LP670-4 SV, did make sense.
But we think we’re going to have to come out on the side of Superleggera after all. We had a chat yesterday with our original source of information on the car from September, and they are adamant that this will be the Lamborghini LP570-4 Superleggera and not the Super Veloce.
But whichever it is it will turn up at the Geneva Motor Show. And I want one.
