Tonight’s Top Gear sees the boys building motorhomes, Jeremy playing with the Audi R8 V10 Spyder & Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet & SIARPC is Andy Garcia.
You guessed, it’s Sunday again and we’re already up to episode 4 of series 15 – just three more TGs for this series after tonight’s. 8pm as usual on BBC2 in the UK, 9pm in Europe if you can grab it and whatever nefarious way in the rest of the world you can tune in works for us – if not the Beeb.
Top Gear builds Motorhomes is the main theme tonight, a story we reported back in May when we caught the boys out filming in home-made motorhomes for this new series (and showed you the video that’s ended up being used to trail this piece). Clarkson builds a bachelor pad on the back of a Citroen CX, Hammond does a beamed country cottage on the back of Land Rover defender and May sticks a tent on the back of a Lotus Excel.
Away from the silliness – although that’s not a guarantee – Jeremy takes the Audi R8 V10 Spyder out to play and compares with the Porsche 911 Turbo Cab. Good cars both, although plenty of room for gripes about a lack of soul and too much Teutonic thoroughness.
Also on offer is a car for the blind (no, it doesn’t have *whitewall tyres) and this week’s star in a reasonably priced car is Hollywood star Andy Garcia.
More of the same. Looks a good episode.
*And just in case any of you get upset at me taking the p**s out of of the blind with this comment:
I used to know the entertainer Lenny Peters (he of Peters & Lee – if you’re old enough you’ll know) who was blind. And whenever I drove him anywhere he always used to ask if I’d got the whitewall tyres on in case he needed to drive himself later.
And no, I’m not as old as Len would now be – he was my dad’s age!
