The Vauxhall Astra GTC now comes with a new 1.6 litre petrol engine – from the Cascada – which delivers 197 bhp and improved economy.

Vauxhall Astra GTC gets new 1.6 litre 197bhp engine
If you want a quick Vauxhall, you’d normally opt for a VXR. But the new 1.6 litre turbo petrol Vauhall has fitted to the Astra GTC may make you think otherwise.
That translates in to an Astra GTC that will get to 62mph in 7.3 seconds, hit a top speed of 143mph and still manages to return official economy figures of 51mpg and 154g/km.
Vauxhall has also added their Intellilink infotainment system to the options available on the Astra GTC, which offers SatNav, voice control, Bluetooth (phone and audio), text messages to speech and a 7″ touchscreen display.
Stuart Harris, Vauxhall’s Head of Carline Brand, said:
We’ve strengthened our Astra GTC offering with a strong and powerful 1.6-litre petrol engine and the cutting-edge Intellilink infotainment system.
Vauxhall is really throwing down the gauntlet to UK coupe sector rivals with these enhancements to our Astra GTC range.
The Vauxhall Astra GTC with the new 1.6 litre petrol turbo costs from £20,995 and the Intellilink infotainment system an extra £855.
