2015 Volkswagen Touareg price and specs – costs from £43,000

A facelift for the Volkswagen Touareg was revealed at the Beijing Motor Show in April, and now it’s on sale in the UK with cosmetic tweaks and updated tech. Costs from £43,000.

Volkswagen revealed a facelift for its biggest SUV – the VW Touareg – at the Beijing Motor Show in April which got the usual tweaks of titivated front and back and a new set of alloys to make it look fresher.

Also in the mix, sadly, was the end of the very grunty 4.2 litre V8 diesel (and the hybrid in the UK) with VW deciding to concentrate on two flavours of V6 diesel and adding in new technology like post-collision braking, coasting and low-resistance tyres with air suspension to the mix.

Now, with the 2015 VW Touareg due to go on sale on 27 August, Volkswagen has revealed prices and specs for the new Touareg.

Now with two power outputs for the Euro 6 diesel engines – 201bhp and 255bhp – and a choice of three trim levels – SE, Escape and R-Line, the SE £43,500-44,500) comes with 19″ ‘Salvador’ alloys, RNS 850 SatNav with 8″ touchscreen, DAB, Bluetooth, Climate, Leather, bi-xenons, fogs and parking sensors.

Move up to the Touareg Escape (£44,700) and you get VW’s 4XMOTION 4WD with diff locks, higher off-road suspension, 18″ ‘Jarakum’ alloys, 100 litre fuel tank, underbody protection, black roof rails and headlight washers.

The range-topping Touareg R-Line (£46,000-47,500) comes with a relatively subtle body kit, 20″ ‘Tarragona’ alloys, lower suspension, LED running lights, Panoramic glass roof, R-Line seats, electric tailgate, keyless and a heated steering wheel.

With the 2015 VW Touareg going on sale in the UK this month, first customer cars are expected in November.
