New Ford Focus RS Configurator – fully loaded RS costs £33,765

The configurator for the 2016 Ford Focus RS in now live in the UK to while away time, with even a fully-loaded RS costing a reasonable £33,765.

We did wonder, when Ford revealed the new Focus RS will cost from £28,940, just how much more you would have top spend to get an RS that had everything you would want.

But it seems Ford hasn’t gone too daft with its RS options – at least not on the new Focus RS Configurator for the UK – and the most we could make ‘our’ RS cost was £33,765.

We ticked just about every box on offer to come up with the top price, but the reality is that you don’t need to spend anything like that to get a well-specced car.

If you’re happy with Ford’s Stealth paint job that’s no extra, but you will probably want to add in the Luxury Pack (power mirrors, rear parking sensors, Keyless, Cruise and Privacy for £1,000), 19″ black alloys (£595), painted callipers (£100) and Premium SYNC2 DAB with Nav and rear camera (£465).

That little lot takes the base price up from £28,940 to a touch over £31k, but that’s not a huge amount of money for a massively appealing hot hatch with 345bhp and up to 346lb/ft of torque, with 4WD and the ability to get to 62mph in just 4.7 seconds.

It could be time to join the queue for the new Focus RS.
