Jaguar Land Rover had best EVER UK sales in March
Jaguar Land Rover has had its best ever sales in March 2016 in the UK, shifting 25,127 new cars, an increase of 16 per cent on 2015.
Jaguar Land Rover is still having a good time in the UK, with sales for March 2016 up by 16 per cent on 2015 at 25,127 and in the process delivering the best ever UK monthly sales in its history. It’s still Land Rover that’s the big deal for JLR, with 19,472 of those sales coming from the off-road specialists.
More than 60 per cent of Land Rovers sales were for the range Rover Evoque and the Discovery Sport, with the Evoque still leading the sales with 6,048, but the new kid on the block Discovery Sport not far behind on 5,787.
Even the ancient Discovery did alright, with sales of 2,578, just behind the Range Rover Sport on 2,596.
At Jaguar, total sales for the month were 5,655 – around 20 per cent of JLR’s total sales and 43 per cent up on 2015 – and it was the new Jaguar XE that was the biggest seller, with well over 50 per cent of the total Jaguar sales at 3,142, and the new Jaguar XF selling 1,719. Which means sales of the Jaguar F-Type and XJ made up the remaining 794 cars shifted.
JLR’s MD, Jeremy Hicks, said:
This has been a fantastic March for Jaguar Land Rover, with very strong performance from both brands, cementing our position as Britain’s largest automotive manufacturer.
Yet again, our success has been spearheaded by continued customer demand for the all-conquering Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport. In the UK alone, Jaguar sold almost 6,000 vehicles in March and increased sales by 76% in the first quarter, with the XE and the all-new XF appealing to more and more drivers.
