The Porsche 911 Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition – costs from £107,216
The Porsche 911 Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition unveiled at Le Mans to celebrate Porsche’s Motorsport history. Costs from £107,216.
Porsche has a long motorsport history, and although much of it is thanks to specialist Porsches, it’s the 911 that is the foundation of Porsche’s success, and it’s the record 17 race wins at Le Mans that are the standout achievement for Porsche motorsport. So it makes sense for Porsche to reveal a new special edition 911 at Le Mans – the Porsche 911 Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition – even if it’s a 911 special edition with no extra power, although it does have a very appealing mechanical spec.
Cosmetically, you can have your 911 Racing Edition in White, Guards Red or Black with black graphics (or grey if you choose Black) inspired by Porsche’s Endurance 919, which also add highlights to the wheels, mirrors, LED headlights and badges.
Inside there’s carbon trim, red seat belts, Porsche crest on the headrests and illuminated sill plates with ‘911 Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition’ on them, black leather, GT Sports Steering wheel and Park Assist.
But the appeal of the Endurance Racing Edition comes with the spec, which includes the Sport Chrono Package, Sports Exhaust, 20″ Carrera Alloys, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) including PASM Sports Chassis (which lowers the suspension by 20mm) and rear axle steering. You also get the choice of a manual or PDK gearbox.
It’s a spec you’d probably choose if you wanted to get the most out of the Carrera S’s 414bhp and 369lb/ft of torque, and takes some of the sting out of the £21k premium the Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition carries over a standard 911 Carrera S.
The Porsche 911 Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition is already on sale at Porsche’s UK dealers at £107,216.
