BMW M5 Competition Edition bids farewell to the F10 M5
The BMW M5 Competition Edition has been revealed as a run of just 200 M5s to bid farewell to the F10 M5. Just 200 available costing from £100,995.
It’s almost time to bid farewell to the F10 BMW 5 Series (a new model is due in 2017), so say hello to BMW’s fond farewell to the F10 M5 – the new M5 Competition Edition.BMW say the Competition Edition is built to celebrate the production life of the F10 generation, and as such gets a healthy dose of titivation, more power, a limited run of just 200 cars and a special price tag – £100,995.
The already healthy power output of the normal M5 has been boosted here to 592bhp and 516lb/ft of torque thanks to a recalibrated ECU, enough to get the Competition Edition to 62mph in just 3.9 seconds – a full half a second quicker than a regular M5.
That extra power can be more effectively used in the Competition Edition thanks to the standard Competition Package delivering a more sportingly focused chassis, and the Competition Edition can be picked out in the car park thanks to its standard 20″ Jet Black alloys, carbon fibre BMW M Performance parts, black kidney grill and its limited colour palette – either Mineral White or Carbon Black.
The Interior isn’t forgotten either, with Black Merino leather with Opal White for the stitching and for the M5 logo on the headrests as well as M Performance interior carbon trim, M5 Competition log and a “1/200” plaque.
Standard equipment is decent too with Adaptive LED lights, Reversing Assist Camera, Power Bootlid, heated seats front and back and a Bang and Olufsen Advanced Audio system.
On sale now, the BMW M5 Competition Edition costs £100,995, but with just 200 for the world you’ll need to get a shake on if you want one.
