DS Performance Line introduced across the DS range
Citroen’s new DS brand launches the DS Performance Line for DS3, DS3 Cabrio, DS4 and DS5, offering sporty cosmetic upgrades without performance upgrades.
It’s a year since Citroen’s DS launched DS Performance to focus on stuff like the DS Virgin Racing team and Formula E, since when we’ve seen a DS3 Performance with moer get up and go too.But but now the French firm is rolling out Performance Line models across its range – that’s the DS3, DS3 Cabrio, DS4 and DS5 – with a raft of cosmetic enhancements that add some sport looks without any extra performance. A sheep in wolf’s clothing, if you like.
Designed to stand out from the regular DS range, the DS Performance Line cars come with a black roof and a specific palette of body colours (with the DS3 getting a choice of seven colours, the DS4 a choice of six and the DS5 just five) as well as a set of gloss black alloys with a DS logo on a red background.
Other titivations include the use of the DS Performance colours – Carmine Red, White and Gold – on stuff like door mirrors and spoiler and new DS Performance Line badges front and back.
Inside there’s a choice of a new Dinamica cloth or two grades of leather upholstery, with contrast stitching on the seats, doors, gear lever and steering wheel, and the front seats get an embroidered ‘DS Performance Line’ emblem.
The DS Performance Line models go on sale in the UK next month, but so far Citroen hasn’t decided on pricing. But don’t expect it to be the cheapest model option in the DS range.
