2017 Audi SQ5 goes on sale in Audi’s UK dealers
The 2017 Audi SQ5 goes on sale at Audi’s UK dealers today, with the 349bhp SUV delivering 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds and a starting price of £51,200.
The latest version of the middle ranking of Audi’s Russian Doll range of SUVs – the 2017 Audi Q5 – went on sale in January after its debut at the Paris Motor Show, and now its the turn of its performance sibling to hit UK dealers – the 2017 Audi SQ5.This all-new SQ5 comes with a new 349bhp TFSI – complete with twin-scroll turbo nestling in the ‘V’ – enough to scoot to 62mph in a very impressive 5.4 seconds thanks, in no small part, to its quattro 4WD fed through an eight speed automatic and wheel-selective torque control, There’s also a sport diff on the options list.
Audi are happy to boast that the SQ5 can do 34mpg on the official cycle thanks to its sophisticated combustion technology, but if you use the tried and tested Cars UK rule of thumb and deduct a third from the claimed economy you’ll be about where real world owners will be.
Cosmetically, you get the familiar bumpers, air vents, sills and honeycomb grille you’d expect on a go faster Audi Q, with the interior getting contrast stitching on the nappa leather, aluminium trim (carbon fibre if you want to pay for it) and sliding back seat.
Standard kit includes MMI Nav 8.3″ Infotainment, Audi Connect and lots of optional stuff like heads-up, Audi phone box and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit.
Now on sale at Audi’s UK dealers, the 2017 Audi SQ5 costs from £51,200, first customer cars should arrive in June.
