Hyundai Kona SUV tease continues, this time with Hyundai’s baby SUV on video
The Hyundai Kona SUV, Hyundai’s new baby SUV, is back again in a video tease ahead of an expected debut in June 2017 before a global launch.
The Hyundai Kona SUV is a car Hyundai hopes will tackle big competition like the Nissan Juke when it arrives in Hyundai showrooms, probably later this year, and they’re making sure no one can miss its impending arrival with a series of teases. The Kona tease started at the beginning of April with what we thought was a likely reveal at the New York Motor Show that month. But that wasn’t to be.
A few weeks later we got the first photo of the new Kona, but all that was was a set of headlights and a front grille.
But Hyundai’s tease for their new baby was derailed a bit earlier this month when we published the first photo of the undisguised Kona, busy on a photo shoot in Portugal.
But the simple fact we already know what the Kona will look like isn’t stopping Hyundai’s Kona tease juggernaut, so they’re back again today with another tease, this one on video.
But before you get too excited, we still don’t get to see much more of the Kona beyond a series of quick cut images as the tease video highlights details.
Still, from what we’ve already seen, the new Kona is a decent looking thing, with a new design direction for Hyundai, cohesive styling, proper proportions and the promise, although it’s only a promise until the Kona goes official, of proper four-wheel drive options.
New nuggets of detail on the Kona with this tease include the confirmation of its twin headlamp design (you’ve seen that), a cascading grill (you’ve seen that too) and a bright heads-up display (you haven’t seen that).
We’re expecting this to perhaps be the last tease as the plan seems to be to reveal the Kona next month (June 2017).
But don’t be surprised if Hyundai roll out another tease before that.
