Hyundai Kona spotted undisguised having a quick break in Portugal
The Hyundai Kona is on its way as a new compact urban SUV, and Hyundai’s new baby has been snapped undisguised whilst filming in Portugal.
First we got a look at the Kona’s headlights – which told us very little – and then we got a look at the whole front end of the Kona, although in heavy shadow.
But now, rather earlier than Hyundai planned, we get to see the whole car as a reader of Autoweek in the Netherlands snapped the Kona whilst Hyundai were busy filming it in Portugal (hence the camera boom in the picture).
What the photo shows is a little SUV with a fair bit of attitude, looking squat and appealing and with slim headlights, a front end not completely unlike the new Citroen C3 and a back end that looks quite like the Santa Fe on a boil wash.
Aimed at cars like the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur, the Kona is expected to go on sale in the UK before the end of 2017, adding to Hyundai’s SUV range and sitting below the Tucson and Santa Fe in the range.
Now we’ve got the Kona out in the wild, Hyundai may choose to deliver the goods a bit earlier than planned.
