Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV FINAL testing starts today in Scotland
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan starts final testing today in Scotland before heading to Austria, the Middle East and USA. And it’s all being covered by National Geographic.
Rolls-Royce has taken a rather different route to the reveal of the new Cullinan SUV to most car makers, delivering regular updates on its progress and issuing regular photos of the Cullinan – admittedly with black and white camouflage – from the very start. That means we saw the Cullinan before it became the Cullinan as Rolls-Royce used a Phantom mule to test its four-wheel drive system in 2015, the first ‘official spy photos of the Cullinan at the end of 2016, and various other updates including confirmation that Cullinan won’t be the production name for the Rolls-Royce SUV – and then confirmation it will be.
Now, as the Cullinan nears its debut, it’s off on a trek of final testing which starts today (4 April 2018) in Scotland before moving on to Austria, the Middle East and the USA, and National Geographic will be documenting the whole process for Rolls-Royce.
The ‘Final Challenge’ for the Cullinan will have award-winning explorer and photographer Cory Richards in tow to document the whole process, with daily updates published to a dedicated Cullinan hub on National Geographic’s site.
Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Rolls-Royce CEO, said:
I promised the public three years ago that I would involve them in the development and testing of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and I continue to keep that promise by making The Final Challenge, a public trial.
Today’s public and customers will see Rolls-Royce in a wholly new light as Cullinan demonstrates just how capable a Rolls-Royce can be. And in a few short months, our customers will be able to experience this capability for themselves as they get behind the wheel of this truly compelling Rolls-Royce that is Effortless, Everywhere.
It seems likely the new Rolls Royce Cullinan will debut in the Autumn at the Paris Motor Show.
