New Toyota Aygo UK Prices and Specs announced

The newly facelifted Toyota Aygo – revealed earlier in 2018 – goes on sale in the UK on 1 July with prices starting at £9,695 for the Aygo x 1.0 VVT-i 5MT.

The current Toyota Aygo, which launched four years ago, is a good little city car, but to keep it fresh Toyota revealed a facelift for the Aygo a few months back, and it’s now going on sale in the UK (from July 1).

The new Aygo comes with a new model line-up, a line-up Toyota say is designed to appeal to a wider audience, and with a special focus on the high end of the segment, with each ‘Grade’ of Aygo getting a different front bumper, alloy wheels and interior finish.

The entry-level Aygo x comes with Toyota’s 1.0 litre VVT engine with five-speed manual gearbox, and three doors (from £9,695) or five (from £9,995).

But it’s the Aygo x-Play Toyota expect to be the big seller, with Air Con, LED rear lights, x-touch multimedia with DAB and Bluetooth and options like Sat Nav and Toyota Safety Sense. It only comes as a five-door and costs from £11,375, with an auto option adding £700.

Move up to the Aygo x-plore (from £12,630) and you get 15″ alloys, Fogs, Climate, auto lights, privacy glass, reversing camera and Sat Nav, and the Aygo x-cite (from £12,975) gets a bi-tone Magenta Fizz paint job, Manhattan fabric, Piano Black trim, 15″ Black alloys, Fogs, Climate, Auto lights and privacy glass.

At the top of the Aygo tree is the Aygo x-clusiv with a bi-tone paint job in a choice of three colours, 15″ alloys with twin-spoke design, part leather, Climate, Smart entry, Toyota Safety Sense and x-touch multimedia. It costs from…Toyota hasn’t decided.

There’s also a limited edition – just 2,500 for the UK – Aygo x-press which comes with full roof decal and coloured accents, 15″ black alloys, Fogs, Climate, auto lights, privacy glass and reversing camera. It costs from £12,630.

The 2018 Toyota Aygo can be ordered from Toyota’s UK dealers from July 1.
