McLaren P1 GT Longtail by Lanzante revealed
The McLaren P1 GT ‘Longtail – a one-off McLaren P1 by Lanzante evoking the original F1 GT – has been revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Last week we revealed that Lanzante – the closest thing you can get to McLaren themselves – has built a one-off P1 evoking the legendary McLaren F1 GT – a McLaren P1 GT Longtail. Now, at the Goodwood Festival of SPeed, Lanzante has taken the wraps of the P1 GT and it looks terrific, although Lanzante has revealed no real detail (yet) of exactly what they’ve done to the P1 to create a P1 GT.
What we can see is most of what Lanzante has done to the looks of the P1, with a new, longer, back end with a huge wing and new diffuser, a revised front end with new splitter and vented wings.
What we don’t know is how much weight (if any) Lanzante has manged to trim from the P1, and we don’t know if the P1’s hybrid V8 has been given a lift from its stock 986bhp. No doubt we’ll find out in due course, and will update when we get it.
Lanzante has built the P1 GT as a one-off commission, but with the original F1 GT – used to homologate the F1 GTR Longtail – delivering three units, don’t be surprised if Lanzante are open to building another couple of P1 GTs for deep-pocketed clients.
