New Honda Civic Saloon UK prices and Specs
The new Honda Civic Saloon arrives in Honda’s UK showrooms in August, with prices starting at £19,395 rising to £27,120 for the Civic 1.6 i-DTEC EX.
We learnt back in May that the Honda Civic Saloon, the ‘traditional’ take on the Civic Hatch, was going to go on sale in the UK, bucking an industry trend which has seen sales of saloon cars plummet as buyers continue to flock in to SUVs and Crossovers.Due to arrive in Honda’s UK showrooms in August, there’s a choice of either a 127bhp 1.0 litre petrol or a 118bhp 1.6 litre diesel, with a six-speed manual or CVT for the petrol and a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic gearbox for the diesel. No word on a hybrid offering, although it seems likely to be offered at some point.
Starting point is the SE spec petrol at £19,395 (£20,745 for the diesel) with Honda Sensing Safety stuff, collision mitigation braking, Forward Collision, Lane Keep, Lane Departure, Road Departure warnings and equipment mirroring the Civic Hatch, with SR trim (from £21,240) adding auto wipers, Climate, Parking Sensors and Honda CONNECT with Carplay and Android Auto.
Top of the range EX trim (from £24,100) throws in Keyless, Leather, LED headlights and Fogs, Wireless phone charging and heated rear seats.
Phil Webb, Head of Car at Honda UK, said:
The arrival of the four door variant now completes the line-up for the Civic family in the UK.
With the hatchback and the four door now available, we have a strong Civic range whether it’s a corporate or retail customer looking for a car.
The Civics we’re used to buying in the UK don’t have to come far – they’re all built in Swindon – but the Civic Saloon is an import, built in Honda’s Turkey Plant. But these days that’s unlikely to be a factor in its success.
