Infiniti Project 10 ELECTRIC Speedster – heading for Pebble Beach
The Infiniti Project 10 is an electrified Speedster Concept heading for a reveal at Pebble Beach, ahead of which Infiniti are teasing it with a design sketch.
Last year, at Pebble Beach, Infiniti revealed the Project 9, a retro-racer designed to imagine what an Infiniti from the era would have looked like.Despite its racy looks, the Project 9 didn’t seem to have anything more than the the new Nissan Leaf’s electric powertrain with around 150bhp, and although we did wonder if Infiniti might deliver it as a fun toy in small numbers, nothing came of it.
Now it’s Pebble Beach time again, and Infiniti is back with the Project 10 (who’d have guessed), which is also an ‘electrified’ concept (could that mean it’s a hybrid?) and seems to have moved Infiniti’s imagined history forward by a decade or two with a single seat ‘Speedster’ design with hints of the design we saw in the Q Inspiration Concept.
Infiniti are keeping their cards close to their chest, so we really have no idea what powers the concept – beyond it being ‘electrified’ – but it does look promisingly impressive with its long bonnet and single seat cockpit.
The Infiniti 10 Speedster Concept will be revealed on 23 August at Pebble Beach.
