New Toyota Corolla Touring Sports revealed
The new Toyota Corolla Touring Sports (Estate) has been revealed ahead of a debut at the Paris Motor Show as Toyota revive the Corolla badge in the UK and Europe.
It’s just a few days since Toyota announced that the Auris badge is being dropped in the UK and Europe – despite a new Auris being revealed a few months ago – to be replaced by the Toyota Corolla. Yes, the Corolla is back.In effect we’ve already seen the new Toyota Corolla when the new Auris was revealed, but it’ll be back at the Paris Motor Show in a month’s time with some shiny new ‘Corolla’ badges. It will also be joined by this – the new Toyota Corolla Touring Sports.
Toyota say the new Corolla Estate has a dynamic design which differentiates it from its Hatch sibling, and is sleek and practical.
Engine choices are predominantly hybrid (no surprise there) with just a singe petrol alternative with the 114bhp 1.4 litre turbo.
But there is a choice of two hybrids, with Toyota’s new 2.0 litre hybrid offering 178bhp, and the familiar – although tweaked – 1.8 litre with a more modest 120bhp.
Toyota are promising good equipment levels and some interesting options, with a world-first 3D Driver’s Meter, Premium Heads-Up display, JBL Green Edge Premium Sound, Wireless phone charging and Toyota Touch Multimedia, as well as a choice of four optional bi-tone colour schemes.
