2019 Ford Mondeo gets a facelift
The Ford Mondeo has been updated for 2019 with cosmetic tweaks, new diesel engines, new eight-speed auto ‘box and a new Mondeo Hybrid Estate.
Ford has decided to give the Mondeo a facelift for 2019 to freshen it up a bit, with a series of cosmetic tweaks, new engines, new technology and a Mondeo Hybrid estate too.
The cosmetic stuff isn’t enormous, but there are new grilles across the model range, with different models getting different grilles to denote their place in the range, the lower grille has been tweaked too, there’s a new front bumper, new tail lights, new alloys and a chrome strip across the width of the back end.
Inside there are new trim options, and the arrival of a new eight-speed automatic gearbox also sees models so equipped sporting a rotary gear knob, with new adaptive cruise and Intelligent Speed Limiter.
On the engine front, Ford introduces a new EcoBlue 2.0 litre diesel with 148bhp or 187bhp with the promise of improved economy and a 4WD option, with the 1.5 litre petrol remaining.
New to the range is a Hybrid Mondeo Estate which uses the same ‘self-charging’ setup as the Mondeo Hybrid Saloon with 184bhp and the promise of EV running for at least three feet. Although the boot shrinks a bit to accommodate the hybrid gubbins.
The 2019 Ford Mondeo goes on sale in March in the UK.
