Toyota Supra TRD Performance Line Concept delivers more SHOW for Toyota’s new Supra

The new Toyota has only just been revealed, but Toyota are already showing what can be done with it with the Toyota Supra Performance Line Concept TRD.

If the new Toyota Supra – revealed last month – goes in the same direction as previous Supras, we’re going to see lots of modifications on offer both in terms of how it looks and how it goes.

Quick on the uptake for titivating the new Supra is Toyota’s own Toyota Racing Development, and although you might think a TRD Concept of the new Supra would see its BMW 3.0 litre straight-six given a bit more pep, the Toyota Supra Performance Line TRD Concept is all about how it looks.

A preview of what’s likely to be on offer in the future, the Supra TRD gets lots of carbon fibre additions, including spoilers with fins front and back, side skirts, and something TRD are calling ‘Door Garnish’, all of which conspire to make the Supra look more purposeful.

Toyota say the add-ons will improve the aerodynamics of the Supra, and the new lightweight 19″ wheels look good and might help handling without compromising comfort.

It might be a bit of a disappointment not to see any power or suspension tweaks on the Supra TRD. But you can be pretty sure they’ll follow before too long.
