BMW Vision M Next Concept
The BMW Vision M Next concept is revealed as a look at where BMW’s future hybrid i8 supercar is heading. And it’s appealing.
BMW is keen to keep pointing us at their future direction with new concepts, and although the iNext looks an impressive future electric SUV it’s not the greatest looking thing to come out of BMW.But now we get the future of BMW M with the BMW Vision M Next concept and it’s much better looking, still using design cues we’ve seen in the iNext but merging them in to a future supercar much more appealingly, and offering hints of the never resurrected BMW M1 too.
Surprisingly, the M Next isn’t an EV, but it does have proper pair of electric motors to add to a four-pot turbo to deliver a rather appealing 592bhp – that’s 223bhp up on the current i8 – and will hit 62mph in 3.0 seconds (in theory, we assume) on its way to 186mph.
The interior points to nothing apart from how futuristic BMW can make it, so although the exterior looks of the M Next will doubtless turn up, with a few modifications, in the next i8, expect the interior to be far more mainstream.
