Aston Martin Vanquish 25 by Callum
Ian Callum’s new firm has revisited one of his creations – the Aston Martin Vanquish – and remastered it for the 21st century. It’ll cost you £550,000.
Ian Callum has a storied history as the designer of some of the most desirable cars ever built, and now he’s left JLR and set up his own ‘car’ business, he’s got the opportunity to revisit one of his past creations – the Aston Martin Vanquish – and remaster it for 2020. It’s called the Aston Martin Vanquish 25, and it will cost you a hefty £550,000.Perhaps drawing inspiration from his own remastered Jaguar MK 2, Callum has left the basic shape of the Vanquish much the same, but has wrought more than 100 changes to the original, using techniques and materials that just didn’t exist when the Vanquish arrived in the 1990s.
There’s a new carbon fibre bumper and LED headlights at the front, with new bumper and tail lights at the back too as well as new diffuser and exhaust, new carbon fibre side strakes, proper bespoke mirrors, carbon fibre window surrounds and new sills.
Inside perhaps gets the most obvious updates, with a new carbon fibre dash, 8″ infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, new seats (just two of them), new tartan leather designed with Bridge of Weir, a new instrument panel and detachable watch by Bremont and bespoke luggage by Mulberry.
Under the skin there’s new bigger brakes, a fettle chassis with stiffer anti-roll bars, custom springs and lowered ride height, new wheel hubs that won’t break and the option of a torque converter auto ‘box.
It’s an impressive car, even at £550,000, and Aston Martin boss Andy Palmer says “Impressed, Ian Callum has managed to make the iconic V12 Vanquish look even better”.

They need to freeze that design, the newer designs are heading to the pantomime sector
