Red Bull’s Max Verstappen races the Aston Martin Vanquish whilst towing a caravan
Watch Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen race a pair of Aston Martin Vanquish Volantes – towing caravans – at the Austrian Red Bull Ring F1 Grand Prix track.
Red Bull and Aston Martin have close ties these days, from F1 sponsorship to cars like the Vantage Red Bull Editions and the new Aston Martin AM-RB 001 Hypercar which is currently in development. What Red Bull bring to this partnership, apart from their F1 knowledge and experience, is an ability to promote like no other, and this latest promo for Red Bull manages to bring all the elements together in a race which ‘old’ Top Gear could have invented.
Red Bull enlisted F1 drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen to race a pair of Aston Martins – Aston Martin Vanquish Volante and Vanquish S Volante respectively – round the Austrian Red Bull ring ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix. Which is a very sensible promo.
But rather than do what’s been done countless times before, Red Bull decided they should be towing caravans at the same time.
Predictably, with a pair of F1 drivers behind the wheel, there was little consideration to the lump of accommodation attached to the back, and Ricciardo and Verstappen went full pelt to win.
As you;’d expect, especially if you’ve ever watched Messrs Clarkson, Hammond and May play with caravan racing, the ‘vans didn’t exactly escape unscathed.
