Audi adds the A6 and A6 Avant Black Edition
Audi adds the A6 saloon and Avant to the range of models available with the Black Edition specification which upgrades S line specs.
A couple of months ago, Audi announced Black Edition models across its range, offering a range-topping spec and appealing to buyers who want an added layer of gloss on top of the normal S line spec but without about having to tick the right option boxes. The new Black Edition offerings seemed to encompass just about all Audi’s models in the UK, so when a press release came in proclaiming the arrival of the Audi A6 (and Avant) Black Edition, we assumed Audi had had a bit of a hiccup. But they haven’t.
The Audi A6 wasn’t on the original list of offerings, but now it is and the updates to deliver an A6 Black Edition follow the same outline as Audi’s other Black Edition models.
That means the alloys grow from 19” to 20” with matt titanium finish, black finisher for the grille surround, front air intakes, mirrors and rear diffuser (as well as the roof rails on the Avant). You also get privacy glass.
The interior looks to be pretty much standard spec S line, with Alcantara and leather seats, dual-screen MMI and 7” information system in the instrument binnacle, but of you want to spend a few bob more you can upgrade to the Technology Pack which adds upgraded NAV, bigger 10.1” screen, Virtual Cockpit and Audi Phone Box.
Engine options range from the four-pot A6 40 TDI and 45 TFSI to the six-pot 50 TDI and 55 TFSI, with prices starting at £44,635.
