Audi TT TDI diesel now with qauttro option
The Audi TT can now be ordered with the 2.0 litre TDI, quattro 4WD and S tronic automatic gearbox, costing from £34,230 for the TT diesel quattro Coupe.
Audi looks to have found a hole in its many niches and has decided to fill it with this – the new Audi TT 2.0 TDI quattro S tronic.Slotting in above the existing front-wheel drive diesel TT, the new quattro diesel TT comes as a coupe or roadster, with not just quattro 4WD but also Audi’s S tronic automatic gearbox as standard.
As well as a choice of the TT Coupe or TT Roadster with the new diesel quattro drivetrain, Audi are also offering three trim levels – Sport, S line and Black Edition – with prices rising from the entry-level TT Sport Coupe at £34,230 to the TT Roadster Black Edition at £39,995.
Adding the quattro drivetrain and S tronic gearbox do make the TT a chunk quicker off the line, with the 0-62mph sprint coming up in 6.7 seconds, 0.4 seconds quicker than the front-wheel drive models.
It’s a sensible option for the TT, with the quattro four-wheel drive getting power down better than the FWD versions – and getting off the line quicker – but there is a fairly steep price to pay.
The regular, front-wheel drive Audi TT 2.0 TDI Sport costs from £30,490, which means the 4WD and S tronic ‘box are adding a hefty £3,740.
If you’re happy to pay the premium, the Audi TT 2.0 TDI quattro S tronic is now on sale at Audi’s UK dealers.
