‘Charge’ your children for lifts with Skoda’s Parent Taxi App
The Skoda Parent Taxi App launches as a way of charging your children for lifts by earning ‘miles’ by doing chores at home.
Once your children are old enough to have a social life, your social life ends as you spend half your life ferrying them where they want to go – especially if you live in the sticks – on top of regular trips to school and back.Gone are the days when children get ‘benefits’ by earning them doing chores – every favour now seems to be a ‘right’ – but Skoda wants to bring that back by charging children for mum and dad’s taxi services.
The new Parent Taxi App – just in time for the extended school summer holiday taxi time – tracks the distance of every trip and allocates those miles against a tariff for chores – a tariff set by the parents – which is sent to the child’s phone when the journey is complete.
To some (well, children in receipt of lifts at least) it might seem to be a bit harsh to expect children to ‘pay’ for their lifts, but according to Skoda the average mileage ferrying children each year is 1,648 miles. And if that was paid for at London Taxi rates it would add up to £12,565 a year.
Want to wind your children up with this App? Then you can download it here. And if your children have grown up and now ferry themselves, why not send them a bill for all the years taxi driving you did? Say, £12.5k a year for 15 years.
Seems only fair; perhaps Skoda can incorporate that function in the App?
