Citroen DS5 – the tease begins

Citroen has started the tease for the next instalment in the DS Range – the Citroen DS5 – which will launch at the Shanghai Motor Show.

Yet another new car being teased in the run up to the Shanghai Motor Show, and this time it’s instalment number three in the new Citroen DS range – the Citroen DS5.

Following in the footsteps of the DS3 and DS4, the DS5 will be the biggest modern DS to date and the closest in size to the iconic Citroen DS cars of the past.

Based on the Citroen C5, the DS5 will be innovative as well as chic if it lives up to the promise of Citroen’s intent.

The DS5 is expected to come with a diesel electric hybrid and sport effective 4WD with an electric motor driving the rear wheels, and offering 35% better economy than a diesel.

Citroen are going to reveal the DS5 live online on their Facebook page on the 18th, just ahead of the Shanghai Motor Show. Apart from the less than informative photo above – although it’s a fair bet there will be more teaser photos to come in the next few days – all Citroen has to say is:

“DS5 is set to bring distinctive new elegance and panache to the executive class”
